The Music Instrument Fund of Ireland

The Music Instrument Fund of Ireland was founded in 1995 to make world class string instruments available to promising young Irish string players to develop their talent and perform confidently on the world stage. MIFI, has supported more than 60 young Irish musicians to develop their musicianship and compete internationally.

Baron Yehudi Menuhin was the the organisation’s first and most supportive patron until his death in 1999. MIFI has received funding from the Arts Council of Ireland. “The violin, through the serene clarity of its song, helps to keep our bearings in the storm, as a light in the night, a compass in the tempest, it shows us a way to a haven of sincerity and respect.” Yehudi Menuhin.

The MIFI identity comprises a logotype structured around the f hole from the string instrument family, a warm and rich colour palette and the sans serif typeface DIN. The photography style reflects the vision of MIFI in supporting string players with images of confident young musicians with beautiful MIFI instruments.  The website has a simple interface with easy navigation and an interactive application function and was developed by Pixel design.
